Feather earrings expertly handcrafted from recycled precious materials of some beautiful feathers. With correct and skillful handcraft, these feather earringswill lend staples an artisan touch and you can wear them both day and after-dark to show off your playful and different side. Don't you want to try these feather earrings? Or make a pair of feather earrings for your special and important friend? Follow the tips below and you will complete a unique pair within 30 minutes.
Step 1.
Select two feathers that are as identical as possible. You can use plain white feathers, short feathers or long, elaborate feathers. Generally, people will use miniature peacock feathers for this craft.
Step 2.
Wrap a length of wire once or twice around the base of the quill (stem) of each feather. You will need two lengths of wire about 4 inches in length. You will cut off the excess later. When you have secured the wire around the base of the quill, the remainder of the wire should lie parallel to the quill and immediately next to it.
Step 3.
Thread one or more beads over the wire and the quill. How many beads you use will depend on whether you want the quill to be visible. If you want it to be visible, then use one small crystal bead. However, if you want to make your feather earrings more sparkly, then use more beads. You will do this for each feather.
Step 4.
Trim the remaining jewelry wire. Any left over jewelry wire should be trimmed off using the wire cutters. Now, you are ready to wear your beautiful, custom feather earrings.
Step 5.
Use the remaining wire to secure the now-beaded feather to the loop of the french hook earring. Make sure that when the feather hangs, the front of the feather is facing the same way as your face. You may have to twist the wire to achieve this.
