As the approaching of spring, let’s just put on the light and stylish clothing instead of the thick down jackets and sweaters! Therefore, you can’t forget the statement jewelry-brooch. The small piece can always attract men’s eyesight and help you be individual among the crowd. Then I will show you a simple one made of some common materials.

Material needed: long chain nose plier, brass wire, seed beads (white & blue), iron safety pin, white pearls.

Tips:

1. Cut the wire into pieces, each about 20cm long.

2. The next main work is the wings of the butterfly. Take one piece of the wire, string the seed beads like: one white one + three blue ones + four white ones. Leave three of the white beads and loop the wire by passing through the rest beads, so you will get two lines. Then add the beads according to the picture (the white beads outside and the blue ones inside). Repeat the step four times, after that you will finish the wings. Remember that the fore wings should be small than the hind wings (in this DIY process, you can achieve this by adding another two lines while preparing the hind wings).

3. Assemble the fore wing and hind wing. Lay the two parts flat on the desk, take the short branch of the excessive wire, and weave through the top beads of other part. The next is trying again for another wing. Then add the white pearl beads for the body. The amount may depend on the size of your design. The ending process is twisting the rest wire for the antennas.

4. Add on the iron safety pin by using a wire that passing through the body of the butterfly. Make sure it has attached firmly, then the brooch is well done!
